As we step into 2026, our Circular Solutions team As we step into 2026, our Circular Solutions team has been reflecting on last semester and the Biodesign Sprint competition that challenged us to think differently about sustainable design. We created “The Ghost Comb”, a surf wax comb design that could utilize recycled abandoned polypropylene fishing nets from the Galápagos, transforming waste into 3D filament and a functional product grounded in narrative and purpose.

We’re grateful to have been awarded Gold Medal Recognition in Narrative, Concept, and Reflection from the Biodesign Sprint judges. We are also grateful for the mentors, peers, and supporters who helped shape this project. Thank you to everyone who encouraged us, challenged us, and believed in the process.

As we begin the new year, we look forward to the continued support and are excited to take on more projects rooted in circular economy principles and impact driven design.

Stay tuned!
